Honorable Risa Vetri Ferman with K9 Nero. Judge Ferman was instrumental in assisting the Norristown Police Department in re-instituting their K9 unit by providing funding as the Montgomery County District Attorney.

Police K9s have been found to be outstanding community relations tools. In 2016 the Norristown Police Department reinstituted its police K9 program with the addition of K-9 Nero. The cost of adding K9s is not supported by the operating budget of the police department. In 2017 the police department will add K9 Jerry to the force. The Foundation will be raising funds to provide K9 Jerry and his handler with a police vehicle.

K9 Jerry. The newest addition to the Norristown Police Department

K9 Jerry will be the newest addition to the K9 unit thanks to current Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele. Jerry and his K9 handler, Officer Bryan Nawoschik, start training together in the spring of 2017. You can follow Jerry and Officer Nawoschik’s progress on the Norristown Police Facebook page.
